Stack Challenge – BEFAST Stroke Awareness

So I know I’m late to the tea party, but I still wanted to share my stack for the #BEFASTvirtualteaparty ! πŸ’ ⁣

@nurse_bookie and @ahatforeveryread put this challenge together in September to help spread awareness regarding strokes and they donated money to the American Stroke Association! Here is information they shared! ⁣

🧠 Stroke is the 5th leading cause of death in the United States and the number one cause of disability⁣⁣
🧠 80% of strokes are preventable. You can prevent a stroke by: Keeping a healthy weight, lowering your blood pressure, treating diabetes and irregular heartbeat⁣⁣

🧠 Early detection and treatment prevent deaths ⁣⁣
🧠 Learn the signs and symptoms of a stroke by knowing the BEFAST signs⁣⁣

π—ͺ𝐑𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫? ⁣⁣
𝐁 – Balance (Sudden dizziness/loss of balance)⁣⁣
𝐄 – Eyes (Sudden Vision Loss/Double Vision)⁣⁣
𝐅 – Face drooping (Ask the person to smile – any weakness or drooling on one side?)⁣⁣
𝐀 – Arm weakness (Ask the person to raise both arms – any sudden weakness or numbness on one side?)⁣⁣
𝐒 – Speech difficulty (Unable to speak or slurring of speech?)⁣⁣
𝐓 – Time to call 911 (Note time symptoms started) ⁣⁣

Time is Brain and for every minute you are having a stroke, 2 million brain cells are lost. If ANY one of these symptoms are present, act fast and call 911 immediately.⁣⁣
